How It Works

Working Principle

Dry coolers reject heat entirely through sensible air-side heat transfer -- no evaporation, no water consumption.

Hot Fluid Enters the Coil

Process fluid (water, glycol solution or other heat transfer fluid) at elevated temperature enters the dry cooler coil circuit through the inlet manifold.

Fans Draw Ambient Air Across Coil

Axial fans force or draw ambient air across the finned coil surface. The large fin surface area maximizes contact between the hot fluid tubes and the cooler air stream.

Sensible Heat Transfer

Heat transfers from the fluid through the tube wall and aluminum fins to the air by convection. No evaporation occurs -- the process is entirely dry. Achievable outlet temperature is limited by ambient dry-bulb temperature.

Cooled Fluid Returns to Process

The cooled fluid exits through the outlet manifold and returns to the process equipment -- compressor, chiller, hydraulic system or production machinery -- completing the closed loop.

Key Engineering Note: Minimum achievable outlet temperature = ambient dry-bulb temperature + approach temperature (typically 5-10°C). Accurate site dry-bulb data is essential for correct equipment selection.

Every dry cooler is assembled, pressure-tested and inspected in our 36,000 m² production facility in Weifang, Shandong, China before shipment.

Quality inspection

Sheet Metal Fabrication

CNC laser cutting and precision bending of galvanized and stainless steel panels. Tight dimensional tolerances for consistent unit assembly.

Coil Brazing & Welding

Certified welders perform copper tube brazing and manifold welding. All joints are visually inspected and helium leak-tested before coil installation.

Pressure & Leak Testing

Every coil circuit is hydraulically pressure-tested to 1.5× working pressure. Leak detection confirms zero defects before final assembly.

Final QC & Documentation

Completed units undergo final dimensional check, fan run-test and electrical inspection. Full test reports, CE declarations and data sheets issued with each order.
